CS's Braided Ham, Turkey and Cheese Bread
By: CS Priddy
Using a bread Mix took the variable out of deciding which bread recipe to use. I chose Schar's White Bread, because the dough is more stiff and easier to work with than some of the other brands.
Details

50 min
Servings: 8 cups
Ingredients
- 1 box of Schar's White Bread mix (or any GF bread mix)
- 1/2 pound GF deli ham
- 1/2 pound GF deli turkey
- 1/2 pound swiss (or your choice of cheese)
- 3 tablespoons Stone Ground mustard
- 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Directions
- Mix bread according to directions on box.
- Spray cookie sheet with non-stick spray and turn dough onto pan. Spread the dough to the edges.
- Slice deli meats and cheese into strips about an inch wide.
- Spread about 1 T of mustard down center of dough, lay on about 1/2 of the meat down the center 1/3 of the dough (long-ways). Top with 1 T of mustard and then the cheese. Lay the rest of the meat on top of the cheese, then spread the final tablespoon of mustard on top.
- Take a sharp knife and cut the dough from the edge of the meat out to the edge of the dough, into 1 1/2 inch wide strips. Do this on both sides of the meat. Alternately fold first one side strip and then the next so that you have a braided effect on top of your meat layers.
- Spray non-stick spray on top of loaf and sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 375 for 35 min. Or until golden brown.
- Serve with options like honey mustard, mayo, pickles, etc.
I can't wait to try this recipe. Going to the store right now to get the ingredients, Thanks a lot!
