Flan (gluten free)

For coffee flavored Flan, add 4 teaspoons of GF instant coffee dissolved in 4 Tablespoons of water.

Servings: 6 servings
Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 can of evaporated milk (12 oz.)
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 4 larges eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt sugar until liquefied and golden in color. Stir constantly so it doesn't burn.
  3. Carefully pour hot syrup into a 9 inch round glass baking dish turning the dish to evenly coat the bottom and sides. Set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Beat in evaporated milk, whole milk and vanilla until smooth. Pour egg mixture into baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake in preheated oven 60 minutes. Let cool completely.
  6. To serve, carefully invert on serving plate with edges when completely cool.
