Delicious Party Apple Dip
By: Nancy
Sorry that this is not sugar free or dairy free, but if you can eat those 2 - this is the simplest, most delicious appetizer or dessert. I've never brought it ANYWHERE that everyone there has not asked for the recipe. I've been making it for years for meetings, holidays, parties, showers, and all kinds of gatherings. If there are apples leftover, they are great baked with some cinnamon and a sprinkle of brown sugar and/or gluten free granola.
Details
- Prep Time:

10 min
Ingredients
- 5 or 6 small Granny Smith Apples (The tartness is a great contrast to the sweet dip)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1- 8 ounce block of cream cheese (not low fat)
- Dash of lemon juice
Directions
- Mix together room temperature cream cheese and brown sugar, using a fork or a food processor, until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Slice cold apples just before serving and sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning. I usually put the slices in a large baggie with a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice and shake it up to cover the slices.
- Serve! And be ready to share the recipe.
easily made with df cream cheese from Tofutti. I just made cheesecake with it and my dairy family didn't even know.
YUM!!!!!I make a Gluten free pie with those first few Ingredients and some Gluten-free/Soy-Free Ginger Snaps for the Crust..Ill have to come submit it,as its a re-vamp on a regular Traditional No Bake Pie Reicpe Handed down in my Family. But I never thought to use as a dip for Apples or perhaps Bananas or whatnot.Kiwi and Strawberries might be good, too:")
Actually, I don't see why soy cream cheese wouldn't work. It has the same consistency. The flavor would be a bit different, but I'm sure it would still be quite good! I may have to give it a try!
This sounds wonderful. One of those "now, why didn't I think of that?" because it's so simple, but so good.
