Why didn’t I think of that?? Toaster Bags

Here’s a brilliant idea for those of us who live a Gluten Free lifestyle, if I’ve ever heard one! Toaster Bags. It’s one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” ideas that I love to find, yet hate that I am not the patent holder. These were recently featured on CNET and the question, “Why have I never heard of that?” also came to mind!

These simple Toaster Bags are sold on Amazon.com by two different companies in sets of two. The idea is the same by both companies, but the materials differ. The bags go into your toaster holding any number of toastable items, and you are saved from cross contamination, and having your toaster messed up by melting cheese and other fillings you wouldn’t normally toast. The Toaster Bags can keep your cheese contained, along with other sandwich fixings. The bags very affordable, especially considering that are made from a heat-resistant material that can be reused up to 50 or 100 times (depending on which brand you buy) and are designed to work well with any type of toaster.

These bags are ideal for whipping up toasted sandwiches, reheating pizza slices, toasting garlic bread, heating chicken nuggets, and even bacon according to the manufacturers – in toasters or toaster ovens. The bags will even hold up just fine if your sandwiches are loaded with extra veggies.

If you can only eat gluten free bread but you share a toaster with wheat-eating housemates, toasting your slices in these bags will eliminate any concern of cross contact. The Toaster Bags wipe clean and can go in the dishwasher.

Toaster Bags are also a great idea for college students and travelers!

The article states the toaster is good for college students but gluten free college students should also know that they are protected by federal ADA law and court precedent that states the school must provide seperate cooking spaces and equipment for gluten intolerant students and staff. Know your rights, you may not have to use the bag.
