Inspiration Pie Crust Mix-GF/Casein Free/Dairy Free: Full of Taste

I made several pies over the holiday season and my local health food store clerk talked me into trying a new product they had just stocked – Inspiration Pie Crust Mix.

Last year’s holiday pies were on a specialty store pre-made gluten free crust, which was bitter and hard, so I was open to trying something new!

The box makes 4 crusts and was priced reasonably. I tried my husband’s grandmother’s Pecan Pie and my favorite Food Network Lemon Meringue.

The dough was easy to work with once I sprinkled it with a touch of rice flour. I sprayed my parchment paper with Pam before rolling it out and it was perfectly simple to handle. The crust was flaky and tasted delicious and very non-gluten free in taste and texture.

The pies were a hit and no crust was left behind – the test of a successful dessert!

PIE CRUST MIX INGREDIENTS: Organic White Rice Flour, Sweet White Sorghum Flour, Potato Starch, Tapioca Flour, Organic Sugar, Baking Powder Non-Aluminum Double Acting (corn), Xanthan Gum, Sea Salt.

I will definitely use this crust again and am excited to try their other mixes as well. Their products are gluten free, wheat free, casein free, dairy free.
