GLUTEN FREE HAM LIST 2012

Many newly gluten free folks may wonder why a list is needed for gluten free ham. Ham is meat and meat is gluten free, right? Well, yes and no. Hams usually have a yummy, crunchy, sweet glaze atop them that often contains wheat.

If your ham comes with a glaze packet for you to add, it’s simple to leave it off and make your own. Each year I notice more companies who used to include wheat in the glaze, now make it gluten free. ALWAYS check your glaze ingredients.

Co-founder Denis Robinson sent me the 2012 My Gluten Facts’ Easter Candy list because they wanted to be sure that YOU know about all their work on behalf of those on a gluten free diet.  They put tons of time into researching, confirming ingredients and how products are manufactured so you can be assured that every product they list is safe for your diet.

This site labels which products are made on a (CL) Cleaned Product Line, a (DL) Dedicated Line, or a (DF) Dedicated Facility. They also report on the gluten free certification and the brand statement of each product.
