About

Gluten Freeville ~ A land where savory, steamy breads abound. Sweet, sprinkly cupcakes are moist and delicious. Crispy, salty snacks are flavorful and found in abundance. There is no sickness and no sadness and no wheat, barley or rye. Rolling hills are showered with sunshine and every day is 77°. All the citizens are friendly and helpful and share all the information they have found to make everyone else’s life more meaningful . . .

Okay, THAT place is just is just in my head, but that last sentence, ”All the citizens are friendly and helpful and share all the information they have found to make everyone else’s life more meaningful . . .” That sentence is what I envision for Glutenfreeville.com!

Since you are visiting, chances are you are living gluten free or at least exploring the possibility! It’s not as difficult as it sounds. When you, or a member of your family is diagnosed with a serious disease that mandates the gluten free lifestyle, or you have a gluten sensitivity, or simply want to experience the benefits of a gluten free diet, the rewards are far greater than the sacrifices. In fact, with today’s emerging market of gluten free cookbooks and products, you may find that what you gain far outweighs what you give up.

My name is Nancy and I live in California. I’m the mom of a now college age son who had to go gluten free in tenth grade. While it seemed that teenage life without pizza and cupcakes would be miserable, we embarked on a world of exotic flours and interesting tastes that has proven to be quite fun. Now that he attends school out of state, my quest for great food to send to him, stores where he can find gluten free goodies, and restaurants where he can eat safely continues, as does my advice to many friends who ask about going GF.

While I’m not a medical expert of any kind, I’ve done tons of research and I can feed a family with some awesome gluten free stuff and the joy of seeing my son recover from a very difficult period in his life, beginning with the day we took the gluten out of his diet, has made our new lifestyle well worth it. Nothing posted here by me, or by any contributor of this site is meant to take the place of a doctor’s expertise. Please look for information and encouragement here, but not medical advice.

This journey to gluten free wellness is shared by so many on the internet. I’ve found so much help from others and my goal is build a community where we share our experiences, ideas, questions and solutions while highlighting the way to other great resources – and there are many. Please add your thoughts as you see opportunity to do so!!

We’re hoping you’ll make this your destination for gluten free information. Welcome to Gluten Freeville! We’re in this together.

~Nancy
